Fuzzy logic is a discipline originated for dealing with inexactness frequently encountered in human languages. Since then, advance development has introduced many applications in both engineering and non-engineering areas. This presentation will briefly introduce the basic concepts of fuzzy logic, the advances of fuzzy logic control, and various applications. The basic concepts of fuzzy logic can be summarized in techniques that transform our vague quantitative references to numerical data and vice versa. Fuzzy logic control is one engineering application worth mentioning for its rigorous development. Various applications of fuzzy logic discussed in this presentation are expert system rules, image processing, e-commerce, human language interpretation, managerial control, etc.
